This virtual event is designed for children and families of all ages to listen together to Vitamin D and Me, an amazing story of how and why human beings have different color skin tones. From dark brown to light, human beings and our evolution have an amazing story to tell and it’s all here to learn and share. This engagement encourages open conversation and questions after the story that will give families jumping off points for later conversations.

Anti-Bias and Talking About Differences with Children–
In this discussion, we’ll focus on talking with children about race and human diversity. How can we engage in meaningful conversations about race and diversity with young children? How and when do children learn about human diversity? How do our own biases and stereotypical thinking impact our children? How can we help children develop empathy for those who may have been treated unfairly? How can we share historical and current events in both truthful and developmentally appropriate ways?
Private Event
Michelle is available to engage with children, parents and teachers in your community.

Presenting for the 6th time at the WPC22 and so excited. Join us for an amazing conference on line. I will be presenting - Completely Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack: The Liabilities of White Privilege How White Privilege Hurts White People. This workshop will offer an opportunity to dig deeper into our own invisible knapsack of white privilege. Participants will be asked to reflect and examine white privilege as a personal liability that affects understanding our own humanity and our human connections. Get ready to dive deeper into the concept of white privilege, past the unearned advantages and examine the harm privilege does to the people who have it. The goal is to enable white people to see it is something we need to work against to restore our humanity and every else’s too. If we are to truly fight for freedom, equity and justice for all, we must first find it in ourselves. Level: Intermediate Workshop. Register Here
